Ashford (Middlesex) Bowls Club History

Club Info

Ashford Middlesex Bowls Club was founded in 1918 making it the oldest Club in South West Middlesex. The Club forms part of a sporting site that it shares with the Ashford Tennis & Ashford Table Tennis Clubs. Maintenance of its green, gardens and clubhouse is carried out through the voluntary efforts of its members.

We continue to show what a friendly, complex, competitive game Bowls is and have entertained some local Brownie & Scout Groups to show it is a sport for all ages.

New members, experienced players or novices alike are welcome to join. Benefits available for a very reasonable membership fee include tuition, borrowed bowls and unlimited access to the green. New Members will automatically be given free tuition.

Playing kit:  flat soled shoes must be worn on the green. However for casual ‘roll ups’ there is no dress code. Match dress is either Grey/White Trousers or Skirts with the coloured Club top (available from the Treasurer).

On Wednesdays we have a Roll-up from 10.30am and on Thursdays we have a Roll Up Session from 5.00pm to 8.00p.m. which includes Coaching .
